McDonald’s Testing Mobile Payment App

McDonald’s Corp. is currently piloting a mobile payment application in Salt Lake City and in Austin, Texas, a spokesperson for the company said Tuesday. After ordering, customers can pick up food in stores, curbside, or at drive-through windows. The program will also include a loyalty program and special promotions. Other food chains are seeking ways to ignite growth by making it easier for customers to eat out, including Burger King, which offers a $10-minimum delivery service in some U.S. cities, and Chipotle, which has a mobile ordering app.
